Cruinniú na nÓg 2023 at Kilkenny Library
Kilkenny Library service are planning a fun filled celebration for children and young people, filled with interactive events. We have planned events in our library branches from City to rural across the county to reach as many children as possible, and our programme has been developed based on successful events run previously for children from all walks of life.
We are incorporating STEM themes into these fun activities, where children will be encouraged to use their imagination to develop and personalise their creative experience.
Urlingford, Castlecomer and Ferrybank libraries:
STEM lego workshops for 7-12 year olds
Bricks 4 Kidz will run STEM lego workshops for children aged 7-12 years . While children are having fun, they are also developing important life skills such as problem solving, communications and spatial intelligence, whilst also enhancing their self-confidence and self-esteem.

Graiguenamanagh Library:
BrickFlicks Workshops for 8-12 year olds
Using a combination of readily available digital mobile technology, hand made sets and LEGO mini figures we encourage children to create stop motion movies. They will learn how to design their own sets, script, storyboard, film, edit and produce their own BrickFlicks masterpiece. Thomastown library:
Podcasting workshop - 9yrs +
The participants will learn how to generate ideas & script a short podcast, how to find & record their voice & other sounds, how to edit on mobile devices, add music & create a logo for their podcast. They will learn how to share and showcase their podcast.
Lego will be available in all of our libraries for use at any time, so pop in and enjoy!
